Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable and appealing when displayed. The arrangement of type involves selecting typefaces, point sizes, line lengths, line-spacing, and letter-spacing, and adjusting the space between pairs of letters.
I think familiarising yourself with the terms help especially when it comes to understanding fonts and deciding what details you like about each typeface. It allows you to become comfortable with typography and be able to explore typography with a sense of basic understanding.
Doing this task allowed me to have a sense of understanding when it comes to individual letters and becoming familiar with each term and its meaning. Its a good way to kick start the module covering basic information that I should know and familiarising myself with any new terms and artist names which can be used for future research and idea development.
